GUNUNG STONG STATE FOREST, KELANTAN

The Gunung Stong State Forest Park lies in Central Kelantan covering an area at 21,950 km. His surrounded by the Basor Forest Reserve. This park is important as it forms the corridor that links the Belum forest to the large blocks of forests in the east coast. It is one of the top five ecotour destination in Malaysia, a sanctuary to a wide range of wild animals, birds and plants. The fan palm, (Lincala Strongensis) is only found in this forest and nowhere else in the world. It is also the home of two indigeneous communities.
